Meet Sherri Schumann

I am Mrs. Sherri Schumann, Gifted and Talented Facilitator. I serve three schools in OPS - Boyd, Florence and Wilson Focus School. I am here at school one day a week.

This is my 35th year in education. I graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and I began my career in Wisconsin.  I then spent 13 years in Colorado and later moved to Nebraska.  I have been a teacher, an Instructional Facilitator, and a Gifted Facilitator.  I received my masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from UNO; I have been summer school principal for two years and QUEST administrator the past six years.

Being a traveling specialist, I have the privilege of working with many students and staffs.  I love my schools, and I cherish every day I get to spend at each school.  Our children are such treasures, each with their unique personalities, capabilities, and needs.  I feel honored that I get to work with these children every day!

Speaking of children, I am married with three children of my own. I have one daughter, age 22, two sons, ages 25 and 29, and a beautiful little grandson who is three years old.  We also have an eight-year-old puppy, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, named Harley.  Outside of school, I spend a lot of my time watching sports and missing my children!

I wish all of you a wonderful 2016-17 school year!
